By Representative Galvin of Canton and Senator Brady, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3746) of William C. Galvin and Michael D. Brady (by vote of the town) that the town of Avon be authorized to amend the by-laws of said town to change the name of the board of selectmen to select board in said town.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act amending the town of Avon’s by-laws.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding sections 21 and 40 of the General Laws, section 5 of chapter 40A of the General Laws or any general or special law to the contrary, the select board of the town of Avon may amend the zoning by-laws and regulations of the town by majority vote to revise all references to the board of selectmen and its members to select board and select board members, respectively.
