Autobody Minimum Rates

Mr. Soter of Bellingham moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XX. Chapter 100A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 15. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of insurance shall set a minimum hourly labor rate that insurers shall pay on insured claims for repairs made by registered motor vehicle repair shops; provided, however, that the minimum hourly labor rate shall not be less than $53. The commissioner of insurance shall set minimum hourly labor rate no later than 90 days after the effective date of this act and the rate shall go into effect 30 days after it is set by the commissioner.”
