An Act Designating Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day.


 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Designate the fourth Saturday of September as "Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day" in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts .   This day shall be set aside annually to educate the public as to the contributions of Mrs. Kennedy Shriver on behalf of all disabled individuals.  Through creation of the Special Olympics, Mrs. Shriver created a welcoming atmosphere where individual differences were celebrated, human dignity respected and spirits challenged among the citizens of the Commonwealth and the world.
