An Act relative to the state building code
By Mr. Vieira of Falmouth, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 1751) of David T. Vieira and others relative to local option approval of building code amendments. State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.
SECTION 1. Section 97 of chapter 143 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following new paragraph:-
Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, the board may not adopt an amendment to the state building code that permits a city or town to accept such amendment on a local option basis.
