An Act to allow veterans leave to attend VA medical appointments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 6A. Chapter 30 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 9H the following section: - Section 9H ½. An employee of the commonwealth who is a veteran, as defined in clause Forty-third of section 7 of chapter 4, or who is a person on active service in the armed forces of the United States, as defined in said clause Forty-third of said section 7 of said chapter 4, or who is a person with a history of military service in the armed forces of the United States shall annually be permitted to take up to 40 hours of leave to attend medical appointments at a United States department of veterans affairs medical facility. |
