An Act relative to Medicare part B premium reimbursement for certain public retirees. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 10B of chapter 32A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting in line 17 the word “may” and inserting in place thereof the following: - shall. SECTION 2. Section 10C of chapter 32A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by deleting in line 17 the word “may” and inserting in place thereof the following: - shall. SECTION 3. Section 18 of chapter 32A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting in line 18, at the end thereof, the following words: - and any Medicare part B premium which said retirees, spouses and dependents are required to pay by the federal government. SECTION 4. Section 18 of chapter 32B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting, at the end of the first paragraph, the following words: - and any Medicare part B premium which said retirees, spouses and dependents are required to pay by the federal government. SECTION 5. Section 18 of chapter 32B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting, at the end of the second paragraph, the following paragraph: - The provisions of this section shall be prospective and limited to governmental units that accept the provisions of section 18 of chapter 32B on or after the effective date of this act. |
