An Act relative to freezing the tolls.. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Paragraph (18) of section 3 of chapter 6C of the General Laws, as inserted by Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2009, is hereby amended by striking out the words, “fix and revise from time to time and charge and collect tolls for transit over the metropolitan highway system and the turnpike” and insert in place thereof the following words:- “charge and collect tolls for transit over the metropolitan highway system and the turnpike; said tolls shall be fixed at the rates in place on January 1, 2008. SECTION 2. Subsection (a) of section 13 of chapter 6C of the General Laws, as inserted by Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2009, is hereby amended by striking out, in the first sentence, the following words:- “and, from time to time, fix and revise”. SECTION 3. Subsection (b) of section 13 of chapter 6C of the General Laws, as inserted by Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2009, is hereby amended by striking out, in the first sentence, the following words:- “and, from time to time, fix and revise”. SECTION 4. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, tolls collected for transit over the Tobin Memorial Bridge, owned and operated by the Massachusetts Port Authority, shall be fixed at the rates in place on January 1, 2008. |
