The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to employee plus one plans.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 32A of the General Laws, as most recently amended by chapter 224 of the acts of 2012, is hereby further amended by inserting after the definition of “Wellness program” the following new definitions:-
(j) “Employee plus one health coverage”, health insurance coverage for an employee plus one dependent.
(k) “Family health coverage”, health insurance coverage for an employee and his or her eligible dependents.
(l) “Individual health coverage”, health insurance coverage for an employee.
SECTION 2. Section 4 of chapter 32A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “commonwealth”, in line 11, the following words:
; provided that the commission shall negotiate with and purchase from one or more insurance companies, savings banks or non-profit hospital or medical service corporations health insurance coverage for employee plus one health coverage plans
