The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to flying flags at half-staff upon the death of a police officer or firefighter.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (f) of section 6A of chapter 2 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 35, the words "; and", and inserting in place thereof the following:- "."
SECTION 2. Section 6A of chapter 2, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (f) the following subsection:- (f1/2) In the event of the death of a police officer or firefighter killed in the line of duty, as the result of a direct adversarial force or at or by the hand of an adversary, from the day of death until sunset of the day of interment in accordance with such orders or instructions as may be issued by or at the direction of the governor; and
