An Act providing for special legislation regarding the state police exam. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: Whereas, the deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize forthwith, Melissa Alden and Christopher Van Ness to take an imminent state police examination notwithstanding the maximum age requirement, therefore this law shall become effective on its passage. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 10 of Chapter 22C of the General Laws regarding the maximum age of applicants for initial enlistment as uniformed members of the state police, Melissa Alden of South Dennis shall be eligible to take the next competitive examination for appointment for initial enlistment as a uniformed member of the state police and, provided she meets all other requirements, shall be eligible for such appointment. SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 10 of Chapter 22C of the General Laws regarding the maximum age of applicants for initial enlistment as uniformed members of the state police, Christopher Van Ness of West Yarmouth shall be eligible to take the next competitive examination for appointment for initial enlistment as a uniformed member of the state police and, provided she meets all other requirements, shall be eligible for such appointment. |
