The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to bicycle safety.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: Subsection (8) of section 11B of chapter 85 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the following words:- “either a lamp emitting a red light, or a red reflector visible for not less than six hundred feet when directly in front of lawful lower beams of headlamps on a motor vehicle” and inserting the following words:- “a lamp emitting a red light visible from a distance of at least six hundred feet” and by inserting, in line 66, after the phrase "front of his bicycle" the following language:- “or on the helmet of an operator”
SECTION 2: Subsection (11) of section 11B of chapter 85 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the following words:- “twenty dollars” and inserting the following words:- “forty dollars”
