The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
An Act relative to protecting police officers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 13D of chapter 265 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 4 to 7, inclusive, the words “for not less than ninety days nor more than two and one half years in a house of correction or by a fine of not less than five hundred nor more than five thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- in a jail or house of correction for not less than 1 year nor more than 2 and one-half years or by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than 10 years, and by a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $5,000.
