An Act relative to protecting police officers. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 13D of chapter 265 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 4 to 7, inclusive, the words “for not less than ninety days nor more than two and one half years in a house of correction or by a fine of not less than five hundred nor more than five thousand dollars” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- in a jail or house of correction for not less than 1 year nor more than 2 and one-half years or by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than 10 years, and by a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $5,000. |
