An Act authorizing the town of Peru to establish a fire station construction fund.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1. Upon the recommendation of the Board of Selectmen, the Town of Peru shall design a form to be included with the municipal tax bills notifying taxpayers of the opportunity to donate to the Peru Fire Station Construction Fund for the purpose of helping to defray the cost of construction of a new fire station in the Town of Peru. 

              All donations shall be submitted to the Town Treasurer as a separate payment directly to the Peru Fire Station Construction Fund.

              Any amount donated to the fund shall be deposited into a special account in the Town’s General Treasury and shall be in the custody of the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall invest these funds subject to the same restrictions that apply to similar Trust Fund investments. The fund together with the interest thereon, shall be used for the purpose specified in this section.

              SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
