An Act Exempting the Position of Chief of Police of the Town of Great Barrington from the Provisions of the Civil Service Law.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: Notwithstanding any general or special act to the contrary the position of police chief in the town of Great Barrington shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter 31 of the General Laws. SECTION 2: The acceptance of chapter 42 of the Acts of 1932 by the voters of Great Barrington is hereby revoked. SECTION 3: The provisions of section 1 of this act shall not impair the civil service status of any incumbent holding the position of police chief in the town of Great Barrington on the effective date of this act nor shall the status of the incumbent be affected by the provisions of section 2. SECTION 4: This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
