An Act further regulating the appointment of police officers. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: SECTION 1. Section 58 of chapter 31 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out in line 23 the word "twenty-first" and inserting in place thereof the following word: - nineteenth. SECTION 2. Said section 58, of said chapter 31, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting at the end of the second paragraph: - No person shall be eligible for original appointment to the position of police officer in any city or town until that person has reached the age of twenty-one. |
