The committee on Ways and Means to whom was referred the Bill providing the terms of certain bonds to be issued by the Commonwealth (printed in House, No. 5065), reports recommending that the same ought to pass with an amendment substituting therefor the a ccompanying bill (House, No. 5106).

An Act providing the terms of certain bonds to be issued by the Commonwealth.


Whereas , The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is immediately to facilitate the issuance of bonds to carry out the purposes of a certain act passed by the general court, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, n ecessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.


 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1.  Section 2B of chapter 240 of the a cts of 2010 is hereby amended by striking out the figures “6001-0817” and inserting in place thereof the following figures:- 6001-0816. 

 

SECTION 2.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the bonds that the state treasurer may issue under section 172 of chapter 240 of the acts of 2010 shall be issued for a term not to exceed 30 years.  All such bonds shall be payable not later than June 30, 2045, as recommended by the governor in a message to the general court dated November 5, 2010 u nder section 3 of Article LXII of the Amendments to the Constitution.
