Amendment #178 to H3400

MA Film Office

[Sponsors] Mr.  Dwyer of Woburn moves to amend the bill in section 2, by striking item 7008-0900 and adding the following section:

“7008-0900For the operation of the Massachusetts office of travel and tourism; provided, that the office shall be the official and lead agency to facilitate and attract major sports events and championships in the commonwealth; provided further, that the department shall spend not less than $150,000 for the operation and administration of the Massachusetts Film Office which shall be the official and lead agency to facilitate motion picture production and development within the commonwealth; and provided further, that funds appropriated within this item shall also be used for financial assistance to local tourist councils under section 14 of chapter 23A of the General Laws                                    $1,788,167”
