Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law or rule to the contrary regulating the maximum age of applicants for appointment as a firefighter, Frank Albano of the city of Newton shall be eligible to take the next open competitive examination for appointment to the position of firefighter and, provided he meets all other requirements, shall be eligible for certification and appointment.
