Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
The first paragraph of section 7 of chapter 111D of the General Laws, as appearing in section 1 of chapter 881 of the acts of 1975, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "laboratory", in line 40, the following words:- ; provided, however, that when a clinical laboratory is maintained by more than two physicians exclusively in connection with the diagnosis and treatment of patients, and the director is one of the physicians who maintains the laboratory, and the laboratory performs only procedures approved by the commissioner, the department, by regulation, may limit such educational requirements by providing that, as a minimum, said director holds a bachelor's degree with a chemical, physical or biological science as his major subject and has had since graduation at least one year of related experience in a clinical laboratory.
