Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section two of chapter eighty of the acts of nineteen hundred and forty-six is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. The chief of police of the city of Fall River shall be appointed by the mayor of said city and confirmed by the city council of said city.
SECTION 3. The board of police of the city of Fall River shall consist of three persons to be appointed by the mayor in accordance with the provisions of the city charter. The board of police shall be advisory in nature consistent with the provisions of the revised ordinances of the city of Fall River.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
