Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

That portion of the highway, Route 12, in the town of Auburn which runs southerly from the Worcester city line to the intersection of Route 20 in the town of Auburn shall be designated and known as Patrolman Stephen A. Lukas Memorial Highway, in memory of Stephen A. Lukas, a member of the Auburn police department who was killed in the line of duty. The department of public works shall erect suitable markers along said highway bearing said designation, in compliance with the standards of said department.
