CHAPTER 257 AN ACT AUTHORIZING FELIX VICTOR BEZEREDY TO TAKE A CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION FOR POLICE OFFICER AND FIREFIGHTER IN THE TOWN OF METHUEN NOTWITHSTANDING THE MAXIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to immediately authorize Felix Victor Bezeredy to take a civil service examination for police officer and firefighter, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary or any rule regulating the maximum age of applicants for appointment as a police officer and firefighter, Felix Victor Bezeredy shall be eligible to take the next open, competitive examination for the position of police officer and firefighter in the town of Methuen, and, provided he meets all other requirements, shall be eligible for certification and appointment.

Approved July 16, 1986.
