CHAPTER 255 AN ACT FURTHER REGULATING THE RETURN OF MOTOR VEHICLE NUMBER PLATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Provision (2)A of section 113A of chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1984 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:- The company shall not issue a return premium upon cancellation of the policy until the insured has presented to the company a receipt or other document showing that the number plates assigned to the insured motor vehicle have been returned to the registry of motor vehicles; provided however, that a company shall return a premium upon cancellation of the policy to an agent or broker or premium finance company without said receipt.
