Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The first paragraph of section 163 of chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1986 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "fourteen", in line 7, the words:- by the appointee or, if the commissioner establishes such a procedure for administrative purposes by the company on behalf of the appointee.

SECTION 2. Said first paragraph of said section 163 of said chapter 175 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 33, the words "by the company of said fee" and inserting in place thereof the words:- of the fee prescribed by section fourteen by the agent or, if the commissioner establishes such a procedure for administrative purposes, by the company on behalf of the agent.
