CHAPTER 121 AN ACT RELATIVE TO MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO THREATEN, BURN OR DESTROY A PLACE OF WORSHIP.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 127A of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1986 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 1, the words "Any person who" and inserting in place thereof the word:- Whoever.

SECTION 2. Said section 127A of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following paragraph:-

Whoever threatens to burn, deface, mar, injure, or in any way destroy a church, synagogue or other building, structure, or place of worship, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in a jail or house of correction for not more than one year, or both.
