Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 49 of chapter 91 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1986 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 9 and 10, the words "department, shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor more than five hundred" and inserting in place thereof the words:- division of waterways of the department of environmental management, shall be punished by a fine of not more than ten thousand.
