Session Laws

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section eight of chapter thirty-nine of the General Laws and any other general or special law to the contrary, the mayor of the city of Waltham is hereby authorized to appoint city councillor John M. Duffy of said city as a member of the board of cemetery commissioners of said city, subject to confirmation by the said city council; and said mayor is hereby further authorized to designate the said John M. Duffy to serve as chairman of said board of cemetery commissioners; provided, however, that upon his appointment and confirmation as said member he shall resign as a member of said city council.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
