Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 42E of chapter 51 of the General Laws, as amended by section 1 of chapter 438 of the acts of 1987, is hereby further amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-

The principal or headmaster of every public or private high school or vocational school shall submit to the board of registrars of voters of the city or town in which the school is located the names of at least three school employees who are registered voters in the commonwealth, to serve as assistant registrars of voters for the purposes of this section.
