CHAPTER 196 AN ACT EXEMPTING CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE SCHOOL DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF NORTH ADAMS FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE LAW.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The positions in the titles within the building maintenance series, the custodial services series, and the facilities maintenance series of the school department of the city of North Adams shall not be subject to the provisions of chapter thirty-one of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. The provisions of section one shall not impair the civil service status of any person holding said positions on the effective date of this act.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
