CHAPTER 259 AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE LOSS OF CONSORTIUM OF A CHILD.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 231 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 85W the following section:-

Section 85X. The parents of a minor child or an adult child who is dependent on his parents for support shall have a cause of action for loss of consortium of the child who has been seriously injured against any person who is legally responsible for causing such injury.

SECTION 2. This act shall be effective to all causes of action which accrued on or after September first, nineteen hundred and eighty-six and to all similar causes of action now pending in any court in the commonwealth.
