CHAPTER 310 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE STATE BOARD OF RETIREMENT TO GRANT CERTAIN RETIREMENT BENEFITS TO THE SURVIVING SPOUSE OF EDWARD P. RICE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, the state board of retirement is hereby authorized and directed to pay to Winifred Rice, the surviving spouse of Edward P. Rice, a former employee of the department of revenue, retirement benefits payable to a member under Option (c) of subdivision (2) of section twelve of chapter thirty-two of the General Laws to a surviving spouse of a member who has retired on an ordinary disability retirement allowance under section six of said chapter thirty-two.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of February ninth, nineteen hundred and eighty-nine.
