Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The definition of "Exterior architectural features" in section 2A of chapter 395 of the acts of 1970, as appearing in section 1 of chapter 735 of the acts of 1987, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 11, the word "porches" and inserting in place thereof the words:- exterior surfaces and the type and style of roofs, porches.

SECTION 2. Paragraph (c) of section 5 of said chapter 395, as appearing in section 2 of said chapter 735, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "condition", in line 7, the words:- nor to prevent landscaping with plants, trees and shrubs.

SECTION 3. Section 13 of said chapter 395, as amended by section 10 of said chapter 735, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word "feature", in line 7, the words:- constructed in violation of this act or the substantial restoration of any building, structure or exterior architectural feature.
