CHAPTER 347 AN ACT EXEMPTING POSITIONS WITHIN THE LABOR SERVICE OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH HADLEY FROM THE PROVISIONS OF CIVIL SERVICE LAW AND RULES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any of the provisions of chapter forty-one of the acts of nineteen hundred and forty-five or the provisions of chapter eleven of the acts of nineteen hundred and sixty-four or any other general or special law or rule to the contrary, the offices and positions within the labor service of the highway department and of the park and playground commission of the town of South Hadley shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter thirty-one of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. The provisions of section one shall not impair the civil service status of any person holding a position referred to in said section one.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
