Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section twenty-nine of chapter ninety-one of the General Laws, the town of Chatham is hereby authorized to undertake a project or projects for the dredging of Chatham Harbor; provided, however, that plans for any such project shall first have been approved by the department of environmental management.
SECTION 2. For purposes authorized by section one, the town of Chatham may borrow such sums as may be necessary pursuant to clause (17) of section seven of chapter forty-four of the General Laws, including the sums authorized by the votes adopted under article thirty-seven of the warrant for its nineteen hundred and eighty-eight annual town meeting and under article thirty-four of the warrant for its nineteen hundred and eighty-nine annual town meeting.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
