Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the retirement board of the town of Winchester is hereby authorized to pay to Dolores Anselmo, widow of Richard J. Anselmo, a deceased police officer of the town of Winchester, an allowance equal to the allowance she would have received under Option (c) of subdivision (2) of section twelve of chapter thirty-two of the General Laws, had said Richard J. Anselmo been retired for ordinary disability under section six of said chapter thirty-two immediately prior to his death on October fourteenth, nineteen hundred and eighty-seven and had he received thereupon an allowance in accordance with the provisions of clause (b) of subdivision (2) of section six of said chapter thirty-two. Said allowance shall be paid to said Dolores Anselmo as of the effective date of this act, provided that said Dolores Anselmo shall receive in one sum on the effective date of this act an amount equal to the difference between (i) the sum of the allowances received by her prior to said effective date and (ii) the sum of the allowances she would have received had this act been in effect on said October fourteenth, nineteen hundred and eighty-seven. The allowance provided hereunder shall be in the alternative to, and exclusive of, any other allowance, benefit, or other payment to said Dolores Anselmo from said Winchester retirement board on account of said Richard J. Anselmo.
