CHAPTER 428 AN ACT ASCERTAINING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE RELATIVE TO THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

For the purpose of ascertaining the will of the voters relative to the fairness doctrine, the state secretary shall cause to be placed on the official ballot to be used at the next biennial state election in the year nineteen hundred and ninety the following question:- "Shall radio and television broadcast outlets be required to give free and equal time to all certified candidates for public office in the commonwealth ".
