Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
Section 121 of chapter 140 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1988 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first sentence the following two sentences:- A "rifle" is a weapon having a rifled bore with a barrel length equal to or greater than sixteen inches, capable of discharging a shot or bullet for each pull of the trigger. A "shotgun" is a weapon having a smooth bore with a barrel length equal to or greater than eighteen inches with an overall length equal to or greater than twenty-six inches, capable of discharging a shot or bullet for each pull of the trigger.
