Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The third paragraph of paragraph (b) of subdivision (3) of section 20 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1988 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- The elected member shall be an active or retired member of the county retirement system or one whose retirement is being reimbursed by that system in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (c) of subdivision (8) of section three.
