Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 705 of the acts of 1989 is hereby amended by striking out section 18 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

Section 18. This act shall be submitted to the voters of the town of Franklin in the form of the following seven questions which shall be placed on the ballot in the annual or special election to be held in the year nineteen hundred and ninety and each of which shall be followed by a brief summary prepared by the town counsel.

"Shall section one of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

"Shall sections two, three, four, six, seven, eight, ten, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen and seventeen of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

"Shall section five of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

"Shall section nine of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

"Shall section eleven of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

"Shall section twelve of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

"Shall section thirteen of an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An act relative to the charter of the town of Franklin' be accepted "

If a majority of the votes cast in answer to any one of said questions is in the affirmative, the section or sections of this act therein referenced shall take effect, but not otherwise.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
