CHAPTER 129 AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL OBSERVANCE OF ROSE FITZGERALD KENNEDY DAY.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to immediately provide for the annual observance of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Day, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 12RR, inserted by chapter 34 of the acts of 1990, the following section:-

Section 12SS. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting July twenty-second as Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Day and recommending that said day be observed by the people in an appropriate manner to honor the matriarch of the Kennedy family, who inspired generations of Kennedys to serve their country with honor, integrity, and dedication to justice for all.

Approved July 20, 1990.
