Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to immediately authorize broadcasting schools to measure academic progress of their programs in credit hours, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter ninety-three of the General Laws and the regulations promulgated thereunder by the department of education, The Northeast Broadcasting School in Boston, as part of its application for receiving a license, charter or other document that demonstrates it is legally authorized to provide a program of education beyond secondary education, shall be permitted to measure the academic progress of its accredited programs in credit hours. Any other broadcasting school which is licensed and accredited in the commonwealth shall be permitted to measure the academic progress of its accredited programs in credit hours.
