CHAPTER 191 AN ACT MERGING THE POSITIONS OF TOWN CLERK AND TREASURER OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH HADLEY INTO THE POSITION OF TOWN CLERK-TREASURER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the positions of town clerk and treasurer of the town of South Hadley shall be merged into one position to be known as town clerk-treasurer and the powers and duties formerly exercised by the town clerk and town treasurer shall be exercised by said town clerk-treasurer. The incumbents in the positions of town clerk and treasurer upon the effective date of this act shall continue to hold said positions and to perform the duties thereof until the next annual election of town officers. A town clerk-treasurer shall be elected at said annual election.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
