Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter thirty B of the General Laws but pursuant to a competitive process resulting in an award to a developer in August, nineteen hundred and eighty-nine and reported to the Office of the Inspector General prior to May first, nineteen hundred and ninety the city of Newton is hereby authorized to lease a certain parcel of land located in said city, presently being used for school and recreational purposes, and to sell the buildings thereon. Said parcel is bounded and described as follows:-
Beginning at a point on the south side of Washington Street about 315' southwesterly of Myrtle Street, West Newton;
thence running in a straight line about 320' southeasterly;
thence turning southwesterly and running in a straight line about 310';
thence turning southeasterly to run in a straight line about 85';
thence turning and running in a straight line for about 170' southwesterly;
thence running a distance of about 120' northwesterly in a straight line;
thence turning and running a distance of about 30' northeasterly in a straight line;
thence turning and running in a straight line northwesterly about 270' to Washington Street;
and thence running along Washington Street in a curving line northeasterly about 460' to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
