CHAPTER 39 AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN OF THE TOWN OF SANDWICH TO APPOINT THE TOWN TREASURER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section one of chapter forty-one of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the board of selectmen of the town of Sandwich shall appoint a suitable person as town treasurer for a term of one year and the person so appointed shall have all the powers and duties by law vested in the office of treasurer. Upon qualification and appointment of the treasurer pursuant to the authority contained in this act, the elected incumbent of the office of treasurer of said town shall cease to exercise the powers and duties of said office.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on May first, nineteen hundred and ninety-two.
