Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 59 of chapter 51 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1988 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "place", in line 6, the words:- by consulting the list of the names of voters in the precinct not entered in at least the current annual register under section thirty-seven, which list the registrars of voters shall make available at the polling place for this purpose and then, if necessary,.
