CHAPTER 455 AN ACT EXEMPTING CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE TOWN OF SWAMPSCOTT FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE LAW.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law or rule to the contrary, the position of clerical employee at the town administration building and the position of secretary to the police department in the town of Swampscott shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter thirty-one of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. The provisions of section one shall not impair the civil service status of any person holding the position of clerical employee at the town administration building or the position of secretary to the police department in the town of Swampscott on the effective date of the act.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
