CHAPTER 206 AN ACT RECOGNIZING EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS FOR THEIR YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE BY ESTABLISHING THE HONORARY CATEGORY OF EMT-EMERITUS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 111C of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 15. The department may promulgate regulations to recognize those emergency medical technicians who have been employed for a period of at least twenty years and who have been certified under section six of chapter one hundred and eleven C and who have retired from a local emergency medical technician service system, to designate such persons as "EMT-Emeritus". Such persons may not be used to operate an ambulance or be an attendant thereon.
