Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 8D of chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 1990 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the fourth sentence the following sentence:- Any information received by a local historical commission with respect to the location of sites and specimens, as defined in section twenty-six B of chapter nine, shall not be a public record, unless otherwise provided by by-law or ordinance.
