CHAPTER 187 AN ACT RELATIVE TO THE PROCEDURE FOR FILLING TOWN MEETING MEMBER VACANCIES IN THE TOWN OF BROOKLINE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section nine of chapter forty-three A of the General Laws, in the town of Brookline upon a petition thereof, signed by not less than five town meeting members from a precinct, notice of a vacancy in the full number of town meeting members from such precinct shall promptly be given by the town clerk to the remaining members of such precinct in which the vacancy exists, and said clerk shall call a special meeting of such members for the purpose of filling such vacancy, which meeting shall be conducted under the provisions of said section nine of said chapter forty-three A.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
