Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same,
as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section one of chapter forty-one of the General Laws or any other general or special law or bylaw to the contrary, the tax collector of the town of Groveland shall be appointed by the board of selectmen of said town and the person so appointed shall have all the powers and duties by law vested in the office of tax collector.
SECTION 2. This act shall be submitted for acceptance to the voters of the town of Groveland at a town election to be held on a date to be determined by the board of selectmen of said town in the form of the following question, which shall be placed on the official ballot to be used for the election of town officers at said election:-
"Shall an act passed by the General Court in the year nineteen hundred and ninety-two, entitled 'An Act providing for the appointment of the tax collector in the town of Groveland', be accepted " If the majority of the votes cast in answer to this question is in the affirmative, this act shall become effective, but not otherwise.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
